bp opens 100th station with Albert Heijn c

The convenience store brand now operates across nearly one fourth of the fuel retailer's total footprint in the Netherlands.

The rollout of Albert Heijn to go stores at bp gas stations has reached a new milestone as the company has inaugurated a new site with its 100th AH to go store.

The combination of A H and the fuel retail brand creates even tastier food and drink on the go: with a range that is completely tailored to the needs of the road user. The shop offers drivers a wide selection of freshly prepared food - hot and cold to order - and drinks on the go, such as barista-quality coffee, sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit and vegetable juices.

"100 stores is a wonderful achievement in our partnership with Albert Heijn. As one of bp's growth engines, convenience is an area where we see tremendous growth opportunities given changing customer needs. The partnership with Albert Heijn offers customers coffee, food on the go and food for later, which fits this seamlessly," said Karen de Lathouder, CEO of bp Netherlands.

There are also deals for any time of day and more and more vegan products are being added to the assortment. Customers can also still find familiar car products, such as Castrol motor oil and windshield washer fluid.

"We are always and everywhere there as a trusted and inspiring partner for our customers: around the corner and on the go, such as at train stations, colleges, hospitals as well as at loading and filling stations. Last year we added even more fresh, vegan and healthier choices to the AH to go range. Together, we are making better food accessible for everyone," added Marit van Egmond, CEO of Albert Heijn.

Bp currently operates a network of over 400 service stations across the Netherlands and is one of the main fuel retailers throughout Europe. Its current partnership with AH extends up to approximately 25% of its total retail footprint throughout the country.
